The National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF) is a dynamic and growing non-profit organization dedicated to research, advocacy, and patient and medical education. We work together towards a cure for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and support those impacted by psoriatic disease.
Expanding on NPF’s fundraising strategic plan, the VP of Corporate Development designs and executes a strategic and robust development plan to engage, cultivate, and steward corporate (industry and non-industry) constituents as well as create new revenue streams to sustain funding for the future. In collaboration with the corporate team, this person will manage a portfolio of business centers including corporate memberships, grants, government grants, Seal of Recognition (SoR), and new business development opportunities.
The VP of Corporate Development reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and also works together with other fundraising staff to build on the fundraising strategic plan and execute the corporate giving strategy that will incorporate best practices, identify potential partners and new grant making and foundation relationships.
The VP leads a team of mission driven professionals whose primary responsibilities include leading key fundraising initiatives and supporting those living with psoriatic disease in communities across the country. The VP will collaborate across all costs centers of the organization to optimize NPF’s mission spend.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain the vision and guiding principles of NPF while planning and executing mission-related priority projects across the country.
- In partnership with the corporate development team, create a strategy to grow existing corporate partnerships expanding those relationships through new, innovative mission rich funding opportunities.
- Execute the strategic fundraising plan by building and implementing a non-industry prospecting strategy growing our events, mission, and research revenue streams.
- In partnership with the Chief Revenue Officer, implement a national corporate partnership program, including comprehensive business plans, to meet annual revenue goals.
- Oversee corporate advertising partnerships and recruitment services.
- Partner with SoR Manager to increase seal partnerships; expand existing partnerships to include opportunities for wider engagement with NPF.
- Develop and effectively manage budgets, monthly reporting, data analytics and tracking systems.
- Provide department updates and reporting, including but not limited to Board of Director reports.
- Ensure department policies and guidelines are current and communicated on a regular basis with team and entire organization.
- Ensure corporate contracts and payments are up-to-date and maintained; and grant outcomes are fulfilled and reported back to funders in a timely and complete manner.
- Write corporate grant proposals as needed.
- Ensure corporate records in Raisers Edge and Salesforce are up-to-date and maintained.
- Manage corporate partner recognition program.
- Lead annual Corporate Roundtable and Corporate Reception.
- Travel to major industry conferences, NPF Events and prospecting meetings and events as needed.
Requirements include:
- BS/BA or equivalent
- Five (5) plus years of experience in strategic partnerships, corporate development, and new business development
- Able to understand changing market opportunities, translating them into actionable strategies to achieve organization’s revenue objectives.
- Ability to create new and creative partnership solutions.
- Highly organized professional with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Availability and willingness to travel as required.
- Experience with overseeing budgets, forecasting, and grant writing.
- Able to establish priorities and develop effective working relationships.
- Excellent communication skills and highly collaborative in style.
- Good time management skills and can meet deadlines under pressure.
- Highly organized, analytical, and possesses strong implementation/tactical skills.
Competitive salary with excellent benefits. The ideal candidate would be located in the Alexandria, VA area for a hybrid position, but remote candidates will be considered.
